Since we started Clothes the Loop, people have brought in over 13,000 kgs of clothing and footwear to The North Face US stores to be recycled and kept out of the landfill.
We can’t stop people from growing out of their clothes, wearing through them or deciding that it’s time for something new. However, we can help to ensure that worn clothes don’t end up in landfills. Our Clothes the Loop program allows consumers to drop off their unwanted clothing and footwear at The North Face Retail And Outlet Stores. It doesn’t matter what condition the clothes are in or what brand they are. The items dropped in our collection bins are sent to a recycling center where they are carefully sorted based on over 400 categories. They are then repurposed for reuse to extend their life or recycled into raw materials for use in products like insulation, carpet padding, stuffing for toys, and fibers for new clothing.
Clothes the Loop stems from our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our products at all stages of their life cycle, even those stages out of our direct control. To help promote the program, participants earn a coupon towards their next purchase and all program proceeds benefit go to national charities in each country we run the programme in. Since we started Clothes the Loop, people have brought in over 13,000 kgs of clothing and footwear to The North Face US stores to be recycled and kept out of the landfill.
