Satisfy: Out On A Wire

On May 28th, 2021, Satisfy participated for the first time in The Speed Project, an invite-only unsanctioned 344-mile relay race that begins in Los Angeles and ends in Las Vegas. The annual event has developed a cult-like following in the running community over its five years of existence for its ethos of no rules and lack of any official route, leaving teams to their own devices to make their way from point A to point B.

Satisfy: Out On A Wire

One month out from the race, Satisfy was contacted to see if they would be interested in covering the event for their magazine, Possessed. After brief deliberation, they decided it would be more fun to compete. So within just a couple weeks, they took on the task of route planning, renting all necessary equipment and vehicles, and assembling a team of six runners and seven crew members who were crazy enough to accept such a daunting task on such short notice.

This 48 min debut feature film from Satisfy goes beyond merely capturing what it’s like to run from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. Tied together solely by the unknown and uncontrollable, Out On A Wire is the story of the bond between an eclectic group of individuals who began an incomprehensible journey as strangers and came out the other side a family.

To represent the wide range of emotions experienced by everyone on the team, Founder & Creative Director Brice Partouche has selected Dead Moon — one of his favorite bands — to exclusively provide the soundtrack for the film. The legendary garage rock band is loved for their intense dedication to Do-It-Yourself culture and raw emotion and honesty conveyed in their music and lyrics.

As part of the release of the film, Satisfy will be releasing a limited drop of gear that was inspired by and engineered for the runners of The Speed Project.

For the race, Satisfy constructed bespoke garments for the runners on their team. Built to endure the gamut of conditions that come with running all day and night through the desert, they engineered these pieces with their most advanced running technologies — featherweight Italian microjersey singlets; silky Deltapeak™ tops with UV protection; fast-drying and anti-chafe shorts constructed with ultralight ripstop nylon shells and their proprietary Justice™ fabric lining; body-mapped ventilative Moth Eaten t-shirts; and premium bandanas.
